I.T Purchasing Manager

 South London

 Due to an increase in market share one an exciting oppourutntiy has an opened for a Purchasing Manager to join a large specialist procurement team in a world recognised oorganaition.

You will be from an I.T/Teleco/Applications purchasing background and have a full understanding of delivering large scale contracts to an end user environment. Applications, Software and Hardware knowledge is essential. You will also ideally have had previous relationships with large vendors buying bespoke packages and possess the ability to cope with the challenges this entails.

£62,000 basic + a competitive benefits package

The Role – Procurement Manager

The project requires an experienced I.T Manager to manage its existing team managing frame agreements, working directly with the I.T support to ensure best practice procurement is adhered too.

The position will report to the Procurement Lead and be responsible for for the successful execution of purchasing activities against tight deadlines for assigned orders in compliance with company policies and procedures as well as facilitating the resolution of problems as they arise and liaison with other project teams to share information.

Duties will include negotiating best value with Suppliers, identification of alternative supply sources, evaluating supplier performance, administration / record maintenance of awards and monitoring Supplier performance.

Candidate Profile

Appointment will be based on qualifications and experience. As a minimum the successful candidate will demonstrate a suitable blend of appropriate education, experience and personal competencies as outlined below:

A broad experience covering the full range of Procurement activities in an I.T./applications/software.
Be able to demonstrate the necessary process knowledge and personal skills to work effectively as a team member in a small multi-discipline team.
Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
Flexibility with a proactive attitude and willingness to get the job done are essential competencies.
CIPS qualification is desired but not essential
